The Military Christian Fellowship (MCF) is an inter-denominational body of military men and women committed to Jesus Christ.
The objectives are:
- to be an instrument in leading military men and women to commit their lives to Jesus-Christ;
- to assist and encourage military men and women to grow to spiritual maturity; and
- to support the Chaplain and the Chapel Program.
Who is eligible for membership?
The MCF is made up of serving and retired military members of all ranks, civilian employees of the Department of National Defence
and other interested persons who subscribe to the basis of belief.
What is the MCF basis of belief?
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God. Our statement of faith is the Apostles' Creed. We believe, therefore, that according to
the scriptures, each person, to be saved by grace alone, must accept Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Saviour.
Why is there an MCF?
Chaplains are responsible to their Commander or commanding Officer for the spiritual welfare of the military community. As
Christians of all ranks, no matter what our position, we know our responsibility under the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20), to assist the
Chaplain in reaching our fellow personnel for Christ. The military community forms a unique segment of Canadian society and we as MCF
members can reach our peers more effectively than anyone else. God has given us this opportunity and vision. We accept it not only as
a great challenge, but as a special ministry, a high calling. By the power of his Holy Spirit we will do what He has called us to do in the military
community where He has placed us.
